Travis Snider is back. Now excuse us as we do our happy dance.
Snidey's back just in time, because we're not sure what level of self-immolation we may have been driven to if we were watching Joe Inglett play right field against the Boston Red Sox this week.
Actually, we noticed that Snider wasn't in the 51's lineup yesterday, and for a fleeting half-second wondered whether if he was getting the call, but figured that he still had a few more days to go. We're not sure about what this means about Snider's Super-Two status, and it would be really stupid if they have called him up early. But frankly, considering the mire that we're in, we'll take any little bit of joy we can get. (UPDATE: MLBTR's Ben Nicholson-Smith says that Snider will be a few days short of Super Two status. Extra happy dancing!)
Bring on the Snider Era.

Good to have you guys back on the positive side of life. Your suicide inducing posts of late have been, well, not very happy.
Yess!!!
The big question I have is, why was Inglett sent down and not Millar?
They sent Inglett, because he had options. They would have had to release Millar.
I also expected Millar to be gone.
Millar is 33 plate appearances away from a $50,000 bonus - I would've put my money on it that Millar would be sent his walking papers to clear the way for Snider.
So happy Snider is back!
Dude, I posted on my blog and in almost everyone's comments section to the post where they brought it up but no one wants to take my word for it - Snider was safe to call up last Friday on the Super Two.
You people will learn to listen to me.
;)
i don't know the stats on this, but it seems like we've lost about 25 games in the last couple of months, and all except for 1, or maybe 2, we would have won with one hit, or one big out. I'm pretty sure we've only lost one game by more than 3 runs in the last 2ish months. this goes beyond bad luck...is it the curse of matt stairs?
@ Will - I wouldn't doubt that DJF's suggestion that Snider's call-up was about getting headlines away from the draft is at least somewhat accurate. I'd think it's more that the Jays bottom-line does better if fans can come to the dome to see Snider's first games back, rather than watch him on TV in Florida.
In the end, it's not like the team finishes any better or worse if Snider gets 2 or 3 extra games, so it's not a biggie.
SNIDEY!!!!!
Millar will probably ride the pine the rest of the season or until he asks to be released.
