Last night we fell asleep with the game on, woke up just in time to see Lyle Overbay's eighth inning three-run blast, then rolled over to have the happiest dreams ever about pennants (!!!1) and the postseason (!!!1).

Say what you will about JP Riccardi, at least he didn't sign Gary Matthews to that laughable contract. (Then again, he probably didn't have the opportunity/money to do it.)
Hunter - $17.5 million
Guerrero - $15 million
Gary Matthews - $10 million

In retrospect, NOT signing Manny was the best thing the Blue Jays did in the offseason. I am eating my words.

One thing about the Angels outfield - especially Matthews - is that their contracts helped push up the value of Vernon's deal.
So the next time someone says that Vernon is underperforming based on his contract, tell them it's Sarge JR's fault.
