Small mercies - Doc still rocks

How about Roy Halladay's spring stat line? In nine innings, he has yet to give up a run, has given up just four hits, and has struck out 10 while walking two.

And that's in his spring tune-up starts. He's not even really trying yet.

Meanwhile, C.C. Sabathia gives up five runs in an inning and two-thirds yesterday.

Any chance we could get Halladay to pitch every third day? A 30-win season would look awfully good on Doc's Hall of Fame resumé.

That would be a great business idea.

Halliday is great, there's no doubt about it, but the Jays need another proven inning eater, as it seems hard to believe that their pitching staff can duplicate its performance from last year. Matt Clement may prove capable of filling A.J.'s shoes, but the Jays need an established back of the rotation starter. A pitcher akin to Al Nipper (84-87) would complement the good doc nicely.

The jays should stop messing around and just retire Halladay's number all ready. Stud!

IF the Jays gave Doc the CC Sabathia treatment in his walk year, the Yankees just might not sign him

I don't think Doc would sign with the Yankees. Red Sox maybe, or a national league contender, but I can't picture him being a Yankee.

I wish every day was a Halladay.

I'm a little disappointed about the two walks given up. I think he should be down around 1.7.

I'm pretty sure Halladay just felt like working from the stretch a bit and decided to walk a couple of guys. Just for practice.
