Guess who's back?

It's perpetual Jays farmhand and alleged PES user Howie Clark, who was signed as a minor league free agent by the Jays according to Baseball America.

(And now, we pause so that future anonymous commenters can begin losing their shit over the fact that the Jays signed Howie Clark and not Manny Ramirez. Annnnnnnnd...there. That should do it.)

Clark may well have another opportunity to discern the difference between an Alex Rodriguez squeal and Johnny Mac calling him off an infield fly. Then again, if Howie sees action at the Major League level at any point this season, the Jays are going to have bigger problems than A-Rod's poor sportsmanship.

Welcome back, Howie! We barely knew you were gone!

Wasn't Howie Clark named in the Mitchell Report?

JP continus to prove his worthlessness as GM. All he had to do to make the Jays competitive was sign Manny, Garland, and Lowe. Instead, we get Matt Clement and Howie Clark.

....aaaaannnnnd scene.

Howie can replace Eck in the White Brigade, with Scutaro, McDonald, and Inglett. Or, in longhand, the White-Guys-Who-Hit-About-.250-With-No-Pop-But-Hey-They-Can-Play-Three-Infield-Positions Brigade.

Bautista can be an honorary member because he fits the profile skill-wise.

scutaro is not white

Don't tell JP...scoots would be outta here so fast it'd make your head spin.

Wait wait wait!

I thought the meme was that JP hated PED users and that's why he ran Glaus and Zaun out of town?

what gives?

Anyway, seeing as how Clark will do good to stick with the 51's, let alone make the majors, who cares, baby?

By my rekoning there are entirely too many FA minor leaguers signed by the Jays to fit on that AAA roster comfortably. My bet is some won't make it out of ST.

Aren't we supposed to not care until 2010? I am going to play the season, according to the official schedule on my xbox starting in April. I wonder if my Jays will make the playoffs...I'll keep you posted.

Are you keeping the same roster as us, or making trades that only work against the AI?

Darren Priest said...

Definitely keeping the same roster. Even though trades against AI have improved a lot over the years, I share your suspicion and I will resist the urge to make Manny the DH. It might be harder to resist the urge to make myself the closer, but I will. :)

Would it be acceptable if I re-create Tom Henke and sign him?

By the way, if any other regular readers of this blog are xbox owners and planning to buy MLB 2K9, let me know and we can face off...or something. Personally, I'd rather play Left 4 Dead online.
