Jays Shit The Bed In Orlando

Things aren't getting any better for John Gibbons' crew. Bringing Scott Rolen and Adam Lind will help, but we still feel like there is a lack of cohesion on the team that results in uneven efforts every single night. The blood is in the water.

Oh, Spud.

I don't have the heart to resurrect the blog anymore after basically getting owned by Stoeten (I'll admit when I've been called out on BS), but the sentiment remains the same. I just don't have a lot of confidence in Gibbons' ability to to corral attitudes or get players to focus. Of course, I'd love to have Jimmy Leyland right now and he's not exactly working wonders right now with the Tiggies.

Course, I believe a lot more in the Jays' pitching staff...

that, and I sure as hell hope that Lind and Rolen provide a spark or - if you're searching for something more objective and meaningful - timely hitting.

Gibbons is a hands off manager trying to be a hands on manager. We can only speculate (stupid spineless media) about the real condition of the clubhouse and it's actual effect on the team. I think the only manager the Jays would consider is Cito Gaston. Barring the sudden availability of Jim Leyland or Terry Francona.

But you know what they say, nothing gets your act in gear like a good kick in the ass. I think the best thing for the team would be John Gibbons beating up Joe Inglett, sending him to the DL.

BTW, if that happens, my head will explode.

Don't forget there's a experienced manager in the first base coaches box every night...

The coronation of # 12 should be imminent.

FIRE GIBBONS!

Oh my god.

Don't nobody start the coronation of Ernie "Oopsie, Wrong Lineup" Whitt in the comments here.

Managing a bunch of indy-league scrubs in the Olympics is not the sort of experience necessary to run an major league club.

Plus, the Jays have pretty much tipped their hand that Brian Butterfield is next in line.

Ernie did pretty much tip his hand as to his mental acumen on that one. I suppose we all have off days on our jobs, but Geezus, this is the big leagues and every day is an audition for tomorrow.

Butters may be 'next in line' but Gibbons was 'next in line' after Carlos Tosca was 'next in line' following the mighty Buck's departure. A real murderer's row of managerial expertise right there. Whatever the F that means.

I'm not the first and wouldn't be the last to say that I like Bobby Valentine, even if he was bad to Mike Wilner once.
