...Keep in mind that the Jays were 3-4 against the Royals last season. So the opportunity to beat down on one of the few teams that you can look down upon in the standings should be greeted with as much joy as pulling out a squeaker against the Sox, Rays or Yanks.(At least that's what we're saying now. Who doesn't love Jo-Bau?
A couple of days ago, we were whingeing about José Bautista' struggles at the plate as much as any Jays Talk caller from Woodbridge or Barrie. But two swings of the bat later, JoBau's OPSing over .840 and is second on the team in RsBI and everything is all good.
Or maybe, just maybe, this is a reminder that it is still early in the season, with more than 90% of the games yet to be played. We might not want to shove some guys who've had a bad two week stretch off the plank just yet.

So this thing about a "semi-big" player getting dinged for PEDs is sitting out there, and our mind races as we start to think of the Jays who might fit that description. We're so sick of talking about PEDs that we really hope that the news comes out and it's some guy that we don't care about on a team we never think of.
Because we're not sure that we've got the stomach to go over it if it turns out to be one of our own.

There's an update that it's a pitcher - so I think that means the Jays are safe. None of the Jays pitchers are even close to "semi-big" to American reporters.
Why the Barrie hate? It's not a terrible place to spend a day on the lake...and only 70% of the population are totally retarded.

Mercifully, I didn't see (or can't remember) Morrow's first two starts, but I like the tall drink of water that was pitching last night. Plus fastball, with lots of wiggle on his off-speed stuff, what's not to love? Sign me up! It's the Royals, I know, but they have been hitting the pill pretty good. Let's hope that guy sticks around.

It'll be interesting to see where JoBau is hitting when Hill gets back. I guess it all depends on who else is involved in the ensuing roster shuffle, which itself really just depends on how E5's feeling, but I certainly wouldn't mind seeing him hit 6th more often if they're going to have a guy like McCoy or Lewis available to bat leadoff.
Who doesn't love Joey Bats? Drew Fairservice, for one. We need a combined effort to bring GROF on board the JoBau bandwagon. Optimism!!!!11

As part of the Cliff Lee/Roy Halladay maneuverings last winter, the Phillies traded pitching prospect Kyle Drabek to Toronto and got pitcher Phillippe Aumont from Seattle. According to a scout who has seen both in this year, "More and more, [Drabek] looks like a reliever [in the majors] every time I see him. I like [Aumont] a lot better than I do Drabek right now." The Mariners tried Aumont as a reliever, partly because taller pitchers -- he's 6-foot-7 -- have trouble sustaining their delivery for long outings. "He's going to be fine," the scout said. "Those big guys, it takes them a while to figure it out."

Yeah, but obviously the Jays had a ton of scouts who disagreed with that evaluation, so it's hard to get too worked up about it. If that was a general opinion among a whole bunch of scouts it'd be cause for concern, but if that was the case, the Jays probably would've chosen Aumont instead of Drabek in the first place.
It doesn't matter because D'Arnaud is the top prospect in baseball!!!1
