Lyle Overbay Finally Gets Some Respect

So Lyle Overbay was just named the American League Player of the Week.

We're not sure if there are any particular prizes that go along with such an accolade. But getting to hit ahead of Kevin Millar against a right handed pitcher might be a nice start.

You get an engraved watch.

Well, that's of no use to Lyle Overbay, seeing as how he always knows what time it is.

Does this mean Jays Talk callers will go easy on Lyle this week?

Nah, it just means extra scorn for Vern and Rios.

By the way, nice article, Steve Simmons. Fuck off.

His prize is hitting in the exact same spot he was before.

Oh, Cito.

What does the Gay Jays Fan think of this?

@Anon,

Probably that Overbay has just been FABULOUS.

No, no that Overbay has been scandalous! Fabulous is too benign a word for that hunk-o-man. Heard some idiot call him Lyle Doubleplay again! How unfabulous, how 2008. Rios is a Lazy Latino and Wells is either popping out OR grounding out. Both are very unsexy in my eyes BTW, gals.....

Pardon the Interruption mentioned Halladay tonight. Basically, he needs to either play for a US team or win the World Series to be recognized as the best in the league.

I wait for them to mention the Jays in any way and this is what I get.

I saw that segment Darren, so basically they were saying Halladay needs to play with the Yankees or Sox to gain recognition? They made it sound like there were zero baseball fans in Canada. That's ridiculous, I can name at least 10.

BTW congrats Lyle, if Halladay couldn't win player of the week it may as well have been Overbay.

Ack, I totally agree with the sentiment towards Steve Simmons, what a total hack.
If Rios goes on a tear, is anyone going to remember this?

Tao, would it be possible if you could let the Gay Jays Fan write a guest entry? This would be so scandalous!:P

I have to nothing to say except congratulations to Lyle for being player of the week and if there was an award for Sexiest Player of the Week Alex would win it every week!

He is simply scrumptious!

Also, it is an absolute travesty that Hum and Chuck has become part of the Score blog roll before Tao!

Silly me thought that Hum and Chuck was a gay blog as Hum and Chuck is the name I gave for the oral shenanigans I executed with Juan from Cuba many years ago when I still pretended that I liked girls! That man had an enormous ropey veiny penis but his cum tasted like spoiled buttermilk!
