We know why the Cubs are about to be swept

It's because Manny is more awesome than awesome, and Reed Johnson is just a guy.

You can't argue with that logic.

The ultimate Reed Johnson has been on the bench for both games.

Where is good old commenter Cubsfan now?

Jackass.

Joe Inglett > Reed Johnson

sp: of course, because Second base > Left field.

At least we're at the fucking dance.

You douches are wackin' off to your '93 WS videos, living in the past.

It ain't over yet...

at least there was the technology to make videos the last time WE won the world series

Enjoy it...just like the Maple Laughs, you'll never win another.

Yeah, in 85 years time when our team has reached a full century of futility, we suppose that we'll look like fools carping about the shortcomings of the Cubs.

But until then...it's fun time.

Tao of Stieb said...

And just for the record: we HATE the Leafs.

oh, cubs fan, unbunch your panties.

tao and ack are losers reed is not even in the same category as manny. thats a flawed arguement and get a fucking life you apologists

The Ack said...

I've seen fucking dipshit comments, and then there's that ^^.

Yeah, it's a flawed argument.

A HILARIOUSLY flawed argument.

And for the irony-impaired anonymous commenters out there: you should probably assume that we are in on the jokes in our own blog posts.

hahahhahahahah. Oh, CubsFan. At least we can live in the past. You guys can't even do that, because anyone who watched the Cubs win the World Series...is dead now.

and this has nothing to do with the Maple Leafs. and i've never heard the "Maple Laughs" joke before. 10 points for originality.

and Joey Inglett rules.

What's the point of going to the dance if you're not even going to make an effort to dance?

The Ack said...

well, to be fair, I'd sure like to see firsthand if the Blue Jays still have any moves of their own....

Tao of Stieb said...

Fuck it.

They can go to the dance, we'll stay outside, smoke cigarettes, drink crème de menthe pilfered from someone's parents' liquor cabinet, and feel up that girl in our Physical Geography class with the teased hair and the dubious morals.

I thought the official derogatory name was the Toronto Make-Believes.

This is a funny argument. I was just going to post up on DJF that in 80-whatever years the Blue Jays will be the Cubs. But today I was just too lazy/didn't have enough time to count out the number exact years. Thanks to this discussion, I won't have to do all that work to show how pessimistic/clever I am

Hey, I don't know if we have to put down the Cubs. They're already the only MLB team on wikipedia that you have to be a registered user to add to the page

Tao, only the "losers" are outside the dance with the ugly chick from PG class. We're sneaking out for a dart and a splash of the whisky flask every half an hour, but we're still inside dancing. We've fallen down a few times - but we're still cuttin' a rug - at least until tonight...

I was kinda hoping for the Cubs to make it to the World Series. Now they'll have to launch a comeback of 2004 Red Soxian proportions, but there would be a kind of poetic symmetry to that.

I wonder how Bartman feels about all this, wherever he is. Actually, now that I think about it, Cubs fans are assholes who deserve their luck!

haha zambrano sucks

I read an article at the beginning of this year how someone offered Bartman ten grand to sign the ball he knocked away from Alou and he flat out refused.

Dude must be still all kinds of choked. He needs to take a page out of Ralph Branca's book and turn something horrible into $$$
