A two-sentence post on.... Broken Promises

I know I promised the loyal a post with actual Blue Jays content this weekend, but it's well past midnight and my blood continues to boil. Fuck Bob Davidson.

TIME FOR REPLAY

I dunno, I thought it was clear before I saw a couple of replays. I still think the umpire overstepped but Escobar was Not merely running to third. We got two earlier calls we didn't deserve as well (Hunter was safe at third, Davis was out at second). Great game on both sides. Sorry to lose, but loved every minute of it.

Apologies for this weak effort, but I'm just so Bob Davidson'd I don't have the wherewithal to blog my worries on Cecil tonight.

You mean your worries in a sudden loss of velocity like B.J. Ryan kind of way? I have those too.

I had a long reply on Davidson and Cecil that I accidentally closed. I know you`re all disappointed, but here`s the coles notes:

1) Callaspo measured his route to the ball to avoid Escobar, so Escobar never did interfere with him. Callaspo should have ran straight to the ball and Escobar would have gotten out of his way.

2) Cecil`s velocity is only down 1.5mph per fangraphs. I also think it might be due to him throwing a cutter this year. Having said that, the Speed v Horizontal Movement chart of Cecil last night over at Brooks Baseball isn`t pretty.

I shouldn`t write for Coles.

Can't believe it's the same guy who botched the triple play call in '92, too. Brutal.

Re: Cecil... if Jo-Jo and Litsch both pitch really well this week, could he be the one sent down upon Morrow's return to avoid exposing Reyes to waivers? The Jays seem really high on Jo-Jo for some reason; I wouldn't be totally shocked to see it happen (obviously just a temporary stint in AAA for Cecil to figure things out).

Jobbed. I'm re-listening to The Jays Talk to calm myself down.

Got up this morning only about 5% less furious over Davidson's complete incompetence, and decided that if he is somehow umpiring behind the plate at one of the games I go to this year, I would harass him as violently as one can without cursing or being completely obnoxious.

I then remember that some idiot ump had gone on an ejection rampage and actually thrown a FAN out of a game for heckling a player last year (I still can't figure out how that could be allowed unless the fan was cursing/etc.), but I decided it would be worth it to let this clown have it...

So I ended up on Davidson's Wikipedia page to see what other huge screw-ups he had and...guess who the fucking retard ump was who threw the fan out of the game last year?

UN-FUCKING BELIEVABLE

If he somehow ends up in my vicinity, I'm still going after him
...it will be worth it

Jesus, cmon you guys, you act like it's the first bad call an ump has ever made. Maybe be pissed off with all the runners left in scoring position, or Cecil leaving the ball up in the zone all night.

Are we so entitled that we think every fucking call should go our way. I've watched every inning so far this year and I can count about 4 calls on the base paths that went the Blue Jays way that were clearly wrong when viewed in slow motion.
