A two-sentence post on.... the end of the line

I'm sure at some point shortly after game 162's conclusion I'll have a post of epic proportions in me, lamenting the end of (arguably) the most entertaining non-contending Blue Jay season in recent memory.

But for now, let's just sit back and watch the team slug the ball all over (& out of) the goddamned ballpark one last time, shall we?

  2. I remember the last game of the 2009 season: the Jays blew the lead against Baltimore when Brandon League made multiple fielding errors in the same inning, and though I was going to miss the idea of watching baseball, I was admittedly glad to say goodbye to that shitshow of a team.

This year, it's different. I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that I'm going to legitimately miss this team. It's been a hell of a season, by far the most fun team to watch in at least the last decade. And although I'm giddy to see what AA does in the offseason - it's going to be a fun one - it's also sad to know that this is likely the last time we'll see Lyle Overbay, John Buck, Scott Downs, Jason Frasor, and even Cito, in Blue Jays uniforms.

I guess ultimately it's better to be bummed out on the last day of the season than bitter and glad to see it gone, but April is so far away! Here's hoping it comes quickly.

  3. Cito's gonna love this off-season; there will be six solid months where he'll get to not pencil JP's name in anywhere.
