Six RsBI on Opening Day is something that George Bell, Joe Carter and Carlos Delgado could never muster. It takes a man like Adam Lind to rip that shit out.
And without getting ahead of ourselves, didn't Lind just look like a man-sized DH on every one of those swings tonight? We'll grant that the Tigers bullpen wasn't the greatest, but Lind squared up on everything tonight.
Tomorrow morning: Waxing poetic on Travis Snider and an explanation for Doc's seventh inning.
Wait, what happened out there tonight? I blacked out after the top of the first.
ReplyDeleteLet us hope our young pitchers can match the exploits of our young hitters.
ReplyDeleteThat was an awesome game but the Drunks are right, I doubt I'll ever go to another home opener again. It wasn't just the throwing shit onto the field, it was the idiots who cheered them on. People throwing stuff means there's a few jackasses who ruin it for everyone, but this was pathetic. If I were Leyland I would have pulled my team too after my LF narrowly missed a ball to the back from the stands. And then, while the teams were off the field and some imbeciles were still throwing shit down, you boo, you don't fucking cheer that because that's why we're watching an empty field and risk forfeiting an easy win. Also, when the Tigers trust you enough to come back out you cheer, you don't boo them again. I'd rather watch the Jays lose 15-0 because at least then I'm only sad about my team, I'm not ashamed about my city. That was pathetic.
ReplyDeleteIsn't just great that Toronto Blue Jays baseball is back? Fuck, yes.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the posts tomorrow, Tao.
I'm pretty sure I want to carry the children of an unholy threeway between Snidey, Lindy and myself.
ReplyDeleteMy man-crush is that large for these boys.
Lind is on pace for 972 RBI this year! When Lind hit that 2 run single in the first, Verlander knew he was picking up the L. That is how you start a season.
ReplyDeleteVoodoo Whammy!
I love Adam. I think he's going to finish the year over 300.
