Sunday quick-hitters (pitchers)

BOOM.....Ricky Romero is pitching like a rookie of the year candidate.

BOOM.....Scott Downs is proving that he just might be the best left-handed set-up man in baseball.

BOOM.....BJ Ryan looked strong in picking up his second save of the season.

BOOM....the Jays are 10-4. Ten wins, four losses.

    I'm stoked, New York and Boston are going to be on our heals for a while though. The AL East will be a bitch but we for sure have a shot at the division/wild card.

    Starting to not mind so much that Marcum is out this year - but can you imagine if the "weak" starting staff actually turns out to be a pretty reasonable starting staff? I know, I know, only 14 games ... but this is awesome.

    I'm shocked that going into this game, I had more confidence in Ricky (Lucy you have some 'splaining to do) Romero than any other of the human starters (Halliday-bot 2000 doesn't count) and he shows my confidence wasn't misplaced. A 1-0 win? I thought only Roy was allowed to do that. Hope it contiues when the scouting reports are all over the league.

    What else happened this weekend. Faceless nameless backup catcher #1 got replaced with faceless nameless backup catcher #2. I can't tell the difference. Overbay is overback. Purcey makes my butt-hole clinch up. The strike zone is over there David. Scutaro is the best deal in baseball. I'm not down on Rios but damn, he looks lost at the plate. Downs has decided that there will be no hits this year. Maybe next year.
