Zack Greinke has a great story to tell (and a great writer in SI's Joe Posnanski to tell it) on how he overcame debilitating bouts of anxiety.
And while we wish Greinke a long and prosperous career, we wouldn't mind seeing him get hit with a bit of the classic SI Cover Curse tonight.

That sucks...I was looking forward to seeing this game.
ReplyDeleteAnybody see the Marlins Mets on Sportsnet today? The Marlins broadcaster is quite the homer. Good stuff.
Darren, what's up mate? I watched the Mets on SNY here in NYC. They arguably have the best broadcasters in baseball: Ron Darling, Gary Cohen and Keith Hernandez. They are very unhomerish , especially Ron and Keith. Then again NYC is a tell it like it is town. It was funny to hear Darling's musings about the flop of the other day. Santana has done and great job for the Mets AND the Mets bullpen has blown 8 saves for him! He probably wishes he was traded to Boston or NYYs instead. Oh Darren, all the Mets fans and NYC talk radio guys keep on talking about how Halladay will be traded and they will get him. Trust me by the time of the trading deadline Toronto will have a much better record and those pathetic Mets fans will shut up!
ReplyDeleteJust livin' large, Bruno. Really large. It's sad, actually, I need to work out and lay off the Lays.
ReplyDeleteI kinda like homer broadcasters. They tend to have a lot of energy and enthusiasm. Jamie Campbell should start saying "He gone" after every strike out.
You should go here and listen to the story Ed Gavagan tells about living in NYC. It's wonderful.
Darren, teh one exception is John Sterling who calls the Yankkes games on the radio. He tells it like it is , when the Yanks suck he admits that readily. The caveat is when someone on the Yanks hit a home run. An A Bomb from arod, Jorgy Juiced ONe, The Melkman Cometh, A Teix Message from Teixeir etc so on! You also must have heard his famous exclamation at the end of every game,"the Yankeswin, the Yankees win!"It is comical to say the least.

Hey guys. Get a room.
ReplyDeleteYAY Baseball!
ReplyDeleteI've never been so happy to be wrong.... too bad it couldn't be just a tad longer to knock out the starter before we even got going...
ok...it's official...
ReplyDeleteRios needs to go!!!
I'm sick of the sh*t plays in the outfield & the swingin' at whatever the f**k crosses the plate!!
Hey guys. Get a room.
ReplyDeleteQuote from Tao
Hey Tao maybe all of you guys should get a room with Tallet AND Cito! You would look cute having a spat with those two! It would make a funny scene, if anything. You are a bunch of loser Jays fans, Tampa will be on top with Boston and New York and you will languish in 5th! Burres tonight? Invite him into that room as well, Tao and hope you have a ton of fun with the Loser Jays AND Loser Jays fans doing you know what. I knew Stieb and you are no Stieb, Tao or otherwise!
The Tampa Guy AKA A Winner!
Oh snap! You been served, Tao.
ReplyDeleteAnd now back to my chat with Bruno. What's up, buddy?
Last night's game in 2 sentences:
ReplyDeleteShit sandwich. With a tall glass of piss to wash it down.
Or as a haiku:
ReplyDeleteA short rain delay
But better late than never?
Ask Rios, it's not
DP, what's up mate? Yeah, yesterday was a drag but today could get worse. Burres does stink to high heaven. I think the GM made a mistake in not getting Parrish or Ponson for next to nothing(minor league contracts). Quite frankly, Burres is a terrible signing. Maybe if they convert him back into a reliever he could be OK, but otherwise. let's pray the bats come alive because Davies is pitching. Keep your fingers crossed.
