What's it say about the kind of week we're having when the Jays' signing of Kevin Millar is the best news we've heard?
Whatever. We like Millar almost in spite of ourselves, and we hope that his presence might encourage Lyle Overbay to rethink the 25 steps and moving parts that currently comprise his swing.
I can't get behind this move. Not yet. But as my buddy was saying, Millar will be good for the room. Good for the kids.
ReplyDeleteWell, now that AJ's gone, somebody's got to look after the shaving cream pies and racing the jalapenos.
ReplyDeleteI like this move. It's only a minor league deal so if he makes the team it's a bonus. As you said it might drive Overbay to be the hitter he's capable of.

ReplyDeleteWhat's with all the self-censorship?
ReplyDeleteYou know there's another washed-up player out there we could sign for next to nothing and he would generate 1000x more buzz than the rakish Mr. Millar.
Bo Jackson?
ReplyDeleteI dunno about anyone else but when I first heard about this I was just happy he wasn't on another AL East team, it seemed like every Jays/O's game I ever went to Millar always hurt us, and if you add atleast take away your minuses right? He is also a killer against the Yankees so maybe we can just call him up whenver we play them.
ReplyDeleteColour me underwhelmed. What colour is underwhelmed anyway?
