I really, really hope he comes flying out of the gate in April, just so people will shut up about it. He doesn't even have to do that in order to be the best option the team has in centerfield.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2484762138483195409.post-52935265050548890982012-03-27T10:26:51.953-04:002012-03-27T10:26:51.953-04:00Humour me with this one, why not keep Snider and T...Humour me with this one, why not keep Snider and Thames up in C/LF respectively and send Rasmus down? Sure he's fanciful in the outfield but our limited sample size at the plate hasn't exactly endured me to him. Thames and Snider obviously are both hitting this spring training - Rasmus...uh, I dont know, he's doing whatever he does.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2484762138483195409.post-85061979694456197292012-03-26T17:24:03.277-04:002012-03-26T17:24:03.277-04:00Good with all that has been said here, except the ...Good with all that has been said here, except the comment about the Jays giving up on Snider. Why would anyone give up on anyone, especially a 24 year old? If the performance is there the support will be there. The Toronto media has a compulsion to consistently find new ways to be hurtful. Hopefully he can make the necessary adjustments in Vegas. However hearing Stephen Brunt's comments from spending time around the Jays higher ups this spring, it seems that the organization has really lost faith in Snider.Peter DeMarcohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13025682416268680287noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2484762138483195409.post-39082417280705759452012-03-26T00:16:22.659-04:002012-03-26T00:16:22.659-04:00Maybe if he (Snider) didn't K 16 times this sp...Maybe if he (Snider) didn't K 16 times this spring he'd be going North (say maybe 5-10?)...

By all reports his mechanics are consistently much better, but he's still gotta work on his approach (learn to recognize & lay off breaking pitches). I think most longtime fans were consciously or subconsciously rooting for Snider, just because we've been following him for so long, and he tries so hard. But anyone who was paying attention knew that unless Thames really scuffled in ST, Snider was not making the team, no matter what he did. I think he knew that as well as anybody, and it shows the quality of his character that he still gave it his all, listened to his coaches and has made the adjustments the Jays brass wanted to see. He'll get his chance yet, he just needs to believe in himself and keep working to make himself a better ball player. I hope he doesn't get traded (and I doubt he will), he can still be a big part of this team's future.ColinTheFacenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2484762138483195409.post-87121672597521722302012-03-25T21:32:28.806-04:002012-03-25T21:32:28.806-04:00If he needs development time, this is the right mo...If he needs development time, this is the right move. But that also means that if someone gets injured he shouldn't necessarily be the one to be called up, or it was all for naught and you could have just opened the season with Snider instead of Francisco.NorthYorkJayshttp://twitter.com/NorthYorkJaysnoreply@blogger.com
